"Eco-friendly food and beverage package printing is gaining traction, especially as consumers are most likely to pay more for value-added features that relate to sustainability, according to a new global study conducted by Ipsos InnoQuest. For the recent study, consumers from around the world (19,883 adults from 26 countries) were given a list of potential packaging features and asked which ones they would be willing to pay more for. On a global basis, consumers were most likely to say they would pay more for "Packaging that is environmentally-friendly" (55 percent). "Packaging that keeps food fresh longer" (55 percent) was equally important.
Sustainable, Compostable & Earth-friendly - Indeed, today's conscious consumers have their pick of everything from hybrid cars to recycled running shoes-and every kind of product in between. That's due in no small part to manufacturers who are striving to make better use of resources while ensuring the sustainability of our natural systems."
